Bloodshot Reborn #0 (Comics) Preview

Salvation isn’t something that you usually expect to associated with Bloodshot, but it’s what the future of the character is all about.

A different look at Bloodshot

To be clear, this doesn’t look like it’s going to be a prequel issue. Bloodshot Reborn #0 seems to take place within current continuity, with Ray (Bloodshot) and his crew of lookalikes all starring. Heck, even the dog is there (who’s a good boy?).

That all makes perfect sense though, since this standalone issue is mean to end Bloodshot Reborn, and start something new. That is, of course, Bloodshot Salvation. Still under serious wraps, Salvation is the next series in the saga that is the life of killing machine-turned-hero Ray Garrison.

So what’s the story here?

We don’t actually know what Bloodshot Reborn #0 is about. Not really. And since the preview pages below aren’t lettered (so there’s no script hints), we’re probably not going to find out till much closer to launch.

What we do know though, is that Jeff Lemire is writing the book. And he’s been on a tear with plenty of top quality content for Valiant, and other publishers.

As for Bloodshot Salvation, that’s a mystery too. And it’s one that won’t be fleshed out till May the 6th, Free Comic Book Day. At that point, Valiant will be taking the wraps off the new book, and hopefully giving us a sneak peek at the future of Bloodshot. The ‘secrets’ that Valiant promises will be a part of the Valiant Comics X-O Manowar FCBD Special in the form of a backup story.

And this won’t be a toss away event either, as the publisher promises a redefinition of who the character is. Oh, and also a “major new character”, can’t forget to mention that.
