Nintendo Download March 17

Pokken Tournament, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olumpic Games, and Mutant Mudds Super Challenge bolster the week’s releases.

March 18th brings with it the heavily anticipated Pokken Tournament fighting game, where players will do battle against each other with one of a small but vibrant selection of Pokémon (the likes of Charizard, Suicune, and Chandelure among them).

The 3DS will meanwhile receive Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games that same day, and players will be able to participate in 14 different events.  The Wii U version of the title launches later this Spring.

Mutant Mudds Super Challenge brings back the original with some new content, including stages and boss fights.  Cross-buy exists between Nintendo’s two consoles, and players who own the original or downloaded the Nindies@Home demo will receive 15 percent off their purchase for the first 30 days.

Otherwise, Dig Dug II and City Connection see VC release on Wii U.

  • DIG DUG II – Dig Dug has decided to take a vacation on a remote island, but the Pooka and Fygar won’t give him the chance to rest!   • City Connection – City Connection is an NES action game in which you control a getaway car after stealing cans of paint. Drive on highways, avoid obstacles and ram into police cars to make a clean escape.
