Hot Toys’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day figure gets unboxed

Hot Toys is back at it, releasing an all new Spider-Man figure to coincide with the blockbuster Brand New Day film. While the movie is cleaning up at the box office right now, the figure will be shipping out to fans some time before the end of this year.

The shipping window actually opens this month however, and that brings us to a little unboxing video. Naturally, that’s been put out by retailer Sideshow, who’s no stranger to the format. Sideshow launches one of these videos for seemingly every Hot Toys release, so the format should be old hat by now.

In the case of Hot Toys and Spider-Man figures, that’s likely to have been quite a few too. After all, the collector-focused toy-maker has several ‘movie’ web-heads in its catalogue. Not that the Brand New Day figure is the same as any of them though, as this new suit might be the most comics-accurate MCU costume yet. So yeah, it’s looking pretty sharp.

This fresh adaptation of the Marvel mainstay is loaded too. Well, as loaded as a Spider-Man figure can be. He comes packed with a selection of hand options for posing, plus a collection of webs, multiple eyes, a stand, and the option to pose him with or without web-shooters. So if you dig the organic webbing from the flick, you can pose Spidey without his mechanical thwippers.

Inspired by the smash-hit movie, the Spider-Man 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure features a finely crafted masked head equipped with 4 pairs of interchangeable eye pieces for a range of expressions.

Reflecting Peter’s growth into a seasoned super hero, the figure’s upgraded body design boasts enhanced proportions and a bulkier, more heroic physique. To perfectly complement this new body, the red and blue colored elastic fabric material suit has also been enhanced to allow for maximum flexibility, providing collectors the freedom to recreate Spider-Man’s dynamic poses and mid-air acrobatics with vastly improved articulation.
