Classically-styled 3D platformer Duskfade coming in 2026

Crafted to feel like the classic 3D platformers of years ago, Fireshine Games’ Duskfade is coming to consoles and PC in ’26.

Inspired by the classics

While there are 3D platformers around today for sure, some of them being marquee releases, the genre isn’t quite what it was. And yes, we’re talking about the games of the ’90s and 2k’s, mainly. Titles featuring colorful, cartoony worlds when players could engage with foes, scoop up collectibles, and move about relatively freely were all over the place at one time.

Fireshine games and developer Weird Beluga have made note of that apparently, and the latter company is creating something that looks like it might be worth keeping tabs on. Duskfade would be that title, a game that’ll be bringing sword-swinging, action-platforming gameplay to life within a darned good looking world.

Duskfade is a gorgeous action-platformer that recalls the classic gameplay of some of our all-time favourite 3D platforming games,” said Sarah Hoeksma, Chief Marketing Officer at Fireshine Games. “The game’s developer – Weird Beluga – is an immensely talented team, with a wealth of enthusiasm for platformers and an eye for crafting incredible, gorgeous worlds to explore. We’re so excited for fans of 3D platformers to discover the wondrous world of Duskfade next year.”

Though it’s looking pretty fantastic to us, it’ll unfortunately be a while before we get to actually play Duskfade. The title won’t be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC until some time next year. We’ll keep you posted in the meantime.
