Coming up for release in March, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has re-entered the pre-order phase, and it’s packing bonuses.
Deja Vu
Yeah, you might be getting a little bit of the old deja vu right about now, thanks to that headline. Don’t worry though, you haven’t slipped timelines (that we’re aware of), since this is indeed the second pre-order period for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
The open-world action title, which takes Assassin’s Creed to feudal Japan for the first time, was originally set for launch last fall. That though, was not to be, as Ubisoft pulled the game for a bit more work, cancelling reservations.
But that was then though, and now Ubi has re-opened those pre-orders up, with the title heading to retail on March 20th. But before we get to the details on what you’ll get if you reserve your copy, here’s the latest look at Assassin’s Creed Shadows‘ tale.
Led by Ubisoft Québec***, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will immerse players in 16th century Japan. Players will experience the intertwined stories of Naoe, an adept shinobi Assassin from the Iga Province, and Yasuke, the powerful samurai of historical legend. Players will explore their personal journeys, encounter pivotal historical figures, and shape the duo’s shared destiny as Japan treads a brutal path toward unification. The newly revealed Story trailer offers a glimpse into this gripping narrative, showcasing a land in turmoil, fractured by war and threatened by foreign influences. Amid this chaos, Daimyo Oda Nobunaga’s relentless ambition will shape the fate of both heroes as they forge a path for a new Creed to emerge in Japan.

Buying into a new legend
If you dug what you saw in the trailer, and you’d like to secure a copy of Assassin’s Creed Shadows for yourself, then you can do so as of today. As we mentioned above too, buying-in early will net you two bonuses, those being the Thrown to the Dogs quest, and the Claws Of Awaji Expansion.
A pack set to expand the game’s story, Claws Of Awaji will serve up over ten hours of additional play time, plus new skills, gear, abilities, and a new weapon for Naoe (the Bo). The pack is coming up later in 2025, and is included with all pre-orders of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
There are a few different options when it comes to editions too. Of course there’s the standard, but there’s also a Digital Deluxe Edition and a Collector’s Edition. Getting either will net fans the “Sekiryu Dual Pack”, “Sekiryu Hideout Pack”, and “Mastery Points” as bonuses, but the Collector’s will stock a fair bit more, with some cool sounding physical goodies.
- The Digital Deluxe Edition will include the base game, the “Sekiryu Dual Pack” which contains gear, and weapons for both Naoe and Yasuke, the “Sekiryu Hideout Pack” containing hideout cosmetics, and “Mastery Points”.
- The Collector’s Edition will include the base game, the “Sekiryu Dual Pack”, the “Sekiryu Hideout Pack”, “Mastery Points”, and physical content. The physical content will be a Steelbook, the World map, Naoe & Yasuke figurine, Naoe’s life-sized Katana Tsuba, a Wall Creed Scroll, a 76-paged collector’s artbook and 2 sumi-e lithographs.
