Looking like it might be one of the best games of 2024 is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and it’s just landed in early access.

We’ve thought that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle looked like it might be something special from the day it was revealed, and it’s certainly seeming like that’s the case. From Bethesda and developer MachineGames, the title is the first to star the iconic adventurer in years, and sends Indiana on a globe-trotting quest to uncover something called (you guessed it) the Great Circle.
This isn’t some older Indy though, as the game sets its action in Doc Jones’ heyday, with actor Troy Baker voicing the lead. And from the first impressions that are floating around the internet, it seems as though all of the above comes together in spectacular fashion. But with a release date of December 9th, how could there be players talking the title up outside of media reviews? Well, that’s easy, it’s out in early access.
Those who pre-ordered (and you still can by the way) the Premium, Premium Upgrade or Collector’s Edition of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for either the Xbox Series X|S or PC can get in on the first-look right now.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle combines thrilling set pieces, intricate puzzle-solving, and intense hand-to-hand combat to deliver an authentic Indiana Jones experience. Set between the events of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark™ and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade™, players will unravel a brand-new narrative-driven single-player story steeped in archeological mystery, danger, and intrigue.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle officially arrives on the Xbox Series X|S and PC on December 9th, though that’s far from all there’ll be from the game. Aside from the PS5 edition, which will be arriving some time in the spring of 2025, there’s also set to be an expansion.
It’s not overly clear if this new pack will be building on the main game’s story, or presenting something totally new, but Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of the Giants DLC will be coming up next year as well. If you’re down for more, you might want to consider one of those editions we mentioned above too. According to Bethesda, any of the three will include access to the upcoming pack.
