Delve into the VR world of Metro Awakening with the first 7 minutes of gameplay

Vertigo Games and PLAION have unleashed the first harrowing minutes of gameplay for virtual reality title Metro Awakening.

Wake up to a nightmare

A prequel to the series of first-person shooters, Metro Awakening is the first virtual reality entry to feature the property, and follows along with series mainstay Khan, as he finds himself tossed out of his daily life and into a nightmare. The first seven minutes of gameplay for the game showcases exactly that, as the calm of existence in the metro tunnels turns into abject horror.

Just what’s playable in this first look however, we’re not sure. It does appear as though players will be making their way around in somewhat traditional fashion, but with a VR title you never know. Still, from the looks of this sneak peek, Metro Awakening could be very much worth fans’ time.

Written by Metro author and creator Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Awakening plunges players into the unforgiving, post-apocalyptic world of Metro through immersive VR, unveiling the origin story of Khan, one of the franchise’s most beloved and intriguing characters.

PLAION press release

Reenter the world of Metro, when Metro Awakening hits PSVR2, Meta Quest 2, 3, and 3S, Steam VR, and Viveport next week, on November 7th.
