Shadow is Ark-bound in the final episode of Sonic x Shadow Generations: Dark Beginnings

The last of the three episode Sonic x Shadow Generations: Dark Beginnings series is here, and sends Shadow into the final frontier.

That’s one bad ‘hog. Well, not all bad

Filled with top quality animation and still looking better than it has any right to, is Sega’s animated series of lead-in’s to Sonic x Shadow Generations. The short three episode set completes with this latest drop, which continues Shadow’s quest.

The misunderstood hedgehog invades a GUN facility in the episode, with his sights set on hijacking a space shuttle. Longtime Sonic fans will spot a few other familiar faces too, as we finish up the prolog before the game arrives later this month.

SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS is set to release both digitally and physically on October 25, 2024, starting at £44.99 on PlayStation®5 (PS5®), PlayStation®4 (PS4®), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, the Nintendo Switch™ family of systems, and PC. Fans can pre-order today and receive a legacy skin for Modern Sonic based on his look from Sonic Adventure! Also, players who pre-order the Physical Day One Edition will also receive Gerald Robotnik’s 28-page journal, chronicling his experience creating Shadow and the Ark Space Station.

Sega press release

In addition to the above, Sega is also offering a Digital Deluxe Edition of Sonic x Shadow Generations. fans who grab a copy of that can play the game three days early, and will be in to receive “additional content”. What’s that exactly? It’s a new level for the game, that’s what. Launching on December 12th, the add-on bonus mission will see Shadow taking on a level inspired by the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie (hitting theaters on December 20th).

Lastly too, don’t forget that signing up for Sega’s newsletter before November 1st (2024) will set you up to receive the “the Sonic Jam Legacy Skin for Classic Sonic, inspired by Sonic’s first 3D appearance”. Not a bad little bonus. Head over to Sonic x Shadow Generations‘ official site for more on that.
