SDCC ’24: Excited for Dragon Age: The Veilguard? Check out the Comic Con panel

After a lengthly lull between games, Dragon Age is returning with The Veilguard, and fans will get an early look at Comic Con.

Lifting the veil

Revealed earlier this year, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a long-awaited entry in the role-playing series that’s expected to hit consoles the and the PC this fall. The game represents something of a new direction for the EA-published series, with a more lighthearted and adventurous tone than was featured in previous installments.

Even if that might be a little off-putting for long time fans, it’s still tough to discount BioWare. And since it’s been a couple of weeks since we’ve heard anything about the game, fans might be just a bit starved for info. If that’s you, then you’re going to want to check out the panel presentation at SDCC next week.

Entitled Dragon Age: Meet the Heroic Companions of Thedas, the panel will feature a focus on the fantasy game’s voice acting as well as its lore. Hosted by Lucy James, the show will be joined by the “voices” who’ll be playing in-game companions Lucanis, Harding, Emmrich, and Neve.

BioWare’s Creative Director John Epler, and Creative Performance Director Ashley Barlow will also be on board, and all of the above will be chatting about the “motivations and inspirations that have lit up the personalities and uniqueness of each companion”. There’s more too, as the panel will also show off some gameplay featuring the aforementioned companions, plus “explore how bonds and connections will unfold through BioWare’s dynamic conversation system”.

The show will begin on July 26th at 3:15pm pacific time, and run for an hour. You’ll be able to find the event happening in room 6BCF, at the San Diego Convention Center, and if you do attend you’ll be in for a little bonus item. Fans who get to sit-in will receive a ticket to “claim a Dragon Age: The Veilguard poster at SDCC”.

Just a note about that giveaway though, as it’s going to be first-com, first-served. So yeah, get there early.
