A taste of Black Ops 6’s action coming next month with beta

The actual game is only a little ways off at this point, but fans will be able to get an early look at Call of Duty Black Ops 6 next month.

Stop. Beta time

Looking like a terrific followup to Black Ops Cold War and a nice change of pace from two years of Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is coming up fast. Activision’s next entry in the long-running FPS franchise, 2024’s edition of CoD will deliver another dose of conspiracy-laden action in the underbelly of the global espionage game.

Before we get to that full retail launch though, there’s a little beta test that fans might want to get down on. Actually spread out across a pair of beta weekends, Black Ops 6 will have one early look at its multiplayer action next month, and another in September. Be advised though, both are not set to be equal. While the second beta will be open, the first will be bound to pre-orders only.

Here’s how it all breaks down:

Weekend One: Early Access

  • Available to players who have preordered the game across all platforms (consoles and PC), as well as Game Pass subscribers, the first Beta weekend is scheduled to begin on Friday, August 30 at 10AM PT, and end on Wednesday, September 4 at 10AM PT.

Weekend Two: Open Beta

  • The second Beta weekend is for all players on all platforms, regardless of their preorder status, as well as Game Pass subscribers. The second Beta weekend is scheduled to begin on Friday, September 6 at 10AM PT, and end on Monday, September 9 at 10AM PT.

If you’d like to get in on that pre-order only beta, remember that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 pre-orders are available right now at all major retailers. We know there are a whole bunch of game fans who are not all that into pre-ordering anything, but if you’re planning on getting the game at launch anyway, it might not be a bad idea in this case.

Otherwise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to arrive in full form on October 25th, 2024. Look for it on the PC, plus Xbox and PlayStation platforms.
