Season 5 brings the “Storms” to Mortal Kombat 1 today

Along with the playable version of Ermac, Mortal Kombat 1’s fifth season dawns today for Kombat Pack owners.

Storm’s coming…

Actually the storm is here, or more accurately, Season 5: Storms is here for Mortal Kombat 1. NetherRealm’s latest fighting epic expands with the content drop, which adds in new challenges and rewards, new story elements, tons of fresh skins, and more.

Mixed in with that offering is Ermac, the latest DLC fighter to bust loose from the campaign and join the roster. Unlike the rest of Storms‘ general release offerings however, Ermac is in early access right now, playable exclusively for those who own the Kombat Pack until April 23rd. At that point he’ll hit mass availability as well.

Here’s a look at the full Season 5: Storms in action:

Warner Bros. Games today released the latest Mortal Kombat 1 trailer spotlighting the launch of Season 5: Storms, an all-new season of content themed around the arrival of Raiden as the main boss in Invasions mode. This season features fresh challenges, story elements, boss battles, and rewards, including character skins – Gaffer Johnny Cage, Sudden Overload Scorpion, Voltaic Deity Liu Kang, Electric Soul Liu Kang, Voltaic Warrior General Shao, Charged Frost Sub-Zero, Magnetic Courage Kung Lao, Glistening Mage Rain, Tainted by Evil Raiden, and more – all earnable through Invasions and Kombat League. Season 5: Storms is available now until June 4.

Warner Bros Games press release

Just to reiterate since it’s kind of a two-part drop, Season 5: Storms is out right now for all versions of Mortal Kombat 1. Ermac (who also includes the Kameo Fighter Mavado) is in early access, and is exclusively a part of the Kombat Pack until April 23rd. At that point he hits a’la carte availability, and will be ready for all MK1 owners to buy and add to their games.

Worth noting aside from all of that too, is that there’s some MK1 stuff up for grabs via Twitch. The streaming platform’s Twitch Drops will be doling out even more skins, including “the Hot Minute and Packing Heat character palettes for Scorpion, Holy Hell and Killing Time character palettes for Ashrah, and Wasting Disease and Binge Watcher character palettes for Baraka”.
