Micronauts return to Marvel Comics with new Omnibus, variant cover collection

Last seen in the pages of Marvel Comics decades ago, Hasbro’s Micronauts are back with both a new collection and some variant covers.

Micro heroes, big book

Do you remember the age of the Micronauts? You might not, unless you’re an older fan, as the Mego toy line debuted way back in the late 70s. It was pretty popular at the time though, serving up smaller-scale action figures of heroes and villains that hailed from the subatomic inner space realm.

The toy line spawned a short-lived comic book series to flesh out its tale of good vs evil as well, which was published by Marvel Comics in 1979. And as you can see above in the headline, that very same title is now coming back around, thanks to a deal with current license-holder Hasbro.

Freshly inked, the agreement will see the original Micronauts series get a reprinting for the first time in decades, and arriving in the form of a hardcover omnibus edition. Micronauts: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus Vol. 1 is coming up fast as well, hitting stores next month.

And while that momentum event is rolling, Marvel will be celebrating the return of the IP with a mini-slate (fitting) of variant covers. Here’s a look at what’ll be landing throughout the month:

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
