Indy is set to make a splash in the gaming multiverse once again, this time with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
If adventure has a name…
Fresh from the series-capping Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, one of the greatest characters in film is set to finally return to the realm of gaming. It’s been a while of course, since the character hasn’t had a game since the double-dose of 2009’s LEGO sequel and Staff of Kings.
But even so, when was the last time that Indy had a truly great game? Well, while it’s debatable, we’d actually point all the way back to 1992’s Fate of Atlantis for that. That’s a pretty big drought, but one that might be coming to a close, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Announced a while back, developer MachineGames’ new take on the license has just gotten a fairly full reveal and is looking very promising. Set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and the Last Crusade, Great Circle will surprisingly be a first person adventure, not that you should expect it to be an FPS.
Remember this is Indiana Jones, so there’ll be multiple ways for players to make their ways around levels and tackle foes. And naturally, it also looks like there’ll be plenty of exploration and puzzle solving too.
“Our game is about putting you in the shoes of an iconic hero,” says Design Director Jens Andersson. “Since we are doing this mostly in first-person, you have the chance to truly become Indy. First-person makes you part of this world – allowing you to explore and experience things more intimately. What will you do when you’re dropped into this adventure with your wits and your whip? The world of Indiana Jones is a world with mysteries around every corner, where you’re racing against the clock and outsmarting your enemies as you hunt down artifacts.”

Along with the look at the title in action, we also got a release window, and fans won’t be waiting years to play. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launches some time this year for the Xbox Series X|S and PC. Oh, and of course it’ll be a part of Game Pass as well.
