Diamond has unveiled the “Gold” level books that’ll be hitting participating stores for what should be a pretty big FCBD.

While we’re crashing headlong into the Holiday Season here in the lat bits of 2023, comic publishers and distributors are looking into 2024. And when you say the term “distributors”, you’re usually talking about Diamond Comics. The biggest such company in the US, Diamond has a few arms, but supplying the majority of comic books to stores is inarguably one of its biggest.

And a part of that are special events, like Free Comic Book Day. Taking place on May 4th next year, FCBD will see participating stores stack up piles of free comics for fans to take home with them. It’s typically a fun event, with a few big names attached to it, but 2024 is looking to be the biggest yet.

It might just be us, but it does seem like this upcoming FCBD is particularly… stacked. Publishers include “Andrews McMeel Publishing, BOOM! Studios, Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, Dynamite Entertainment, IDW Publishing, Image Comics, Marvel, Papercutz, Random House Children’s Books, and VIZ Media”, according to Diamond, and all of them are loading up with huge titles, some of which tease upcoming events.

Also worth keeping in mind, is that this is only the Gold tier of books, so there will be more coming. But before we get those, here’s what’s confirmed for May 4th, 2024:
