The King is back, with the release of The King of Fighters XIII Global Match on PS4 and Switch

One of the best-loved fighting games in both The King of Fighters series and SNK’s catalog, KoF13 is back for a Global Match.

First, let’s put your mind at ease. We can all but assure you (probably) that you’re not traveling through time, hopelessly lost in a loop of fighting game releases. While SNK’s The King of Fighters XIII originally launched way back in 2010, this news is about a re-release.

Hitting Sony’s PS4 and the Switch yesterday, The King of Fighters XIII Global Match a new enhanced run for the 2D original. So it’s the game that you already love, but the “Global Match” edition brings that title up to snuff in a big way for online play.

KoF13GM adds in rollback netcode, master online lobbies that let up to nine players lay in wait, and an always nice to see Spectator Mode.

KOF XIII’s gorgeous visuals helped cement its position as the pinnacle of 2D fighting since its original release. The game brings memorable characters and atmospheric stages to life with its highly detailed sprite-based graphics. It features 3-on-3 Team Battles, a Story mode, online opponents, Mission mode, character customizations, and more, making it one of the quintessential competitive entries on the global fighting game circuit.

Again The King of Fighters XIII Global Match is out right now for the Switch and PS4, and you can grab the game inn two flavors. While there’s a base version out, there’s also a Deluxe Edition, which includes “a 100-page Digital Art Book and KOF XIII Digital Soundtrack”.
