Payday 3’s open beta kicks off on September 8th

It’s almost time for the return of Payday’s brand of action, as Deep Silver and Starbreeze prep an open-beta for PC and Xbox.

Time to loot and shoot

For the record, Payday 3 itself isn’t far off. The multiplayer action title arrives this month, on September 21st. This week’s beta test though, will give fans a chance to play a bit early, and also give some much needed feedback for the dev team, on whether the game needs a tweak or two.

To that end, this week’s is dubbed the Technical Open Beta, and actually doesn’t need a key or special access of any kind to partake in. Other than having an Xbox or a PC to access it, all fans can otherwise dig in, though those who’ve played the recent Closed Beta will find the same content presented again.

The PAYDAY 3 Technical Open Beta will offer:

  • The original gang: Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, and WolfThe iconic clown-masked characters that made the PAYDAY franchise infamous are all playable, each with their own unique skillset.
  • Featured heist: “No Rest for the Wicked” will be the playable heist during the closed beta. Representative of classic PAYDAY heists, “No Rest for the Wicked” tasks the players with liberating a small bank of the cash cluttering up their vault. Heisters can sneak through the building, “liberating” the bank’s cash, or go in guns blazing to get the full-on adrenaline rush of a big city bank robbery.
  • All difficulties will be playable, level cap is Infamy Level 22 and Weapon Level Progression is maxed at 8.

Deep Silver press release

The PC and Xbox test starts this Friday, September 8th, and will run through the 11th. Want additional details? Click here to check out the info-loaded official site.
