Another round of classic games arrive for order in physical formats today, with Limited Run Games’ Jurassic Park editions.
Welcome… to 16bit
Jurassic Park is pretty much an evergreen property at this point, constantly attracting fans with fresh merchandise and a lengthy stream of new movies. And though the property currently has Frontier’s excellent park-sim series rolling, the classic 16bit titles are still favorites for many. If those games hold a special place in your heart as well, then you’re gonna want to check out Limited Run Games today.
The company, which focuses on releasing games that otherwise wouldn’t get ‘retail boxes’, will be launching a special series of Jurassic Park collections. Featuring a new set of re-releases, and pressed onto disc (or cart for the Switch), these sets will contain both the original Jurassic Park game and Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues.
Delivered onto modern consoles via Limited Run’s Carbon Engine, the double packs will actually include more than just one version of the two titles. Fans can expect NES, Game Boy, and SNES editions to all be in the set, plus quite a few goodies if you grab one of the larger offerings.
Aside from the base version that’s also available, here’s what’s included in the Collector’s and Prehistoric editions:
- Classic Edition (Switch, PS4 & Xbox One) | $64.99:
- Physical copy of the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection
- SteelBook®
- Packaging inspired by the original Jurassic Park VHS case
- Prehistoric Edition (Switch, PS4 & Xbox One) | $149.99:
- Physical copy of the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection
- SteelBook®
- Packaging inspired by the original Jurassic Park VHS case
- Replica of Dr. Alan Grant’s ID card inspired by the Jurassic Park game
- Physical CD soundtrack
- Acrylic lamp with interchangeable inserts of an 8-BIT Velociraptor and the game logo
- Mini replicas of original Jurassic Park NES, Game Boy and SNES game cartridges in a custom display frame
- Boxed in classic Jurassic Park toys-inspired packaging
As you can see here too, LRG is going all out for this one, with a good amount of supporting merchandise. Tees, sweatshirts, hats and more are all available for order right along with the game. That’s a set of listings that should be up as you read this on Limited Run Games‘ shop, though if you’d prefer to just grab a copy digitally, you’ll be able to do that as well.
Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection will arrive for “all platforms” on November 22nd. You’ll be able to digitally pre-order a copy as of November 8th, 2023.
