Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden to get extended looks next week

Two of Focus Entertainment’s biggest guns will get a special showcase on August 30th, with Space Marine II and Banishers.

Bring ’em on

Two titles that should be on most fans calendars for the fall/Holiday release season are Warhammer 40K: Space Marine and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. Quite different from one another in terms of content and gameplay, both are nonetheless looking stellar.

Publisher Focus Entertainment is set to show off much more of the pair too, at an upcoming stream via its YouTube channel. The publisher promises plenty of gameplay for the show, which will kick off on on Wednesday, August 30th, at 12pm eastern time. Just hit the link above at the magic time, and you’re good to go.

In the meantime though, scroll down for some of the most recent looks at both games, along with the official descriptions.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2

Warhammer 40K fans should be familiar with Space Marine by now, as the original title was a smash hit, bringing legendary Ultramarine Titus to life. While that original game pit the character up against hordes of Orks, Saber Interactive’s Space Marine 2 will set him against the terrifying Tyranid swarm.

Not that that’ll be the only thing Titus will come up against, as it certainly seems like there’s something far more sinister lurking in the shadows.

Continue the story of legendary Space Marine Lieutenant Titus – played by Vikings and Taken star Clive Standen – and drive back the everlasting night in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s epic new campaign, playable either solo with AI or in three-player co-op! Unleash your deadly arsenal and embody the unwavering brutality of the Emperor’s greatest warriors to protect humanity from the untold horrors of the galaxy, including the dark forces of Chaos!

Banishers: Ghosts of Eden

Now flip over to something completely different for Banishers: Ghosts of Eden. A fantasy hack and slash set in a very different North American wilderness, Banishers comes out of developer DON’T NOD. The title stars a pair of lovers and ghost hunters, though while Red mac Raith is a human who wields magical abilities, his lady Antea Duarte is very much (and very recently) deceased.

A spirit trapped in the physical realm, the game is as much about the pair fending off specters as it is finding a way to help Antea.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is set in a world where the souls of the departed roam. You play as experienced spirit hunters and Banishers Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith, a couple entrusted with the daunting task of lifting a malevolent and ominous curse. After an ill-advised attack, Antea is killed, leaving her lover in solitude and profound despair. Will you honor your Banisher oath, or sacrifice the living in a desperate bid to bring your beloved back?
