Warhammer: Age of Sigmar – Realms of Ruin hits pre-order, ships November

Set to arrive in just a few months time, the real-time strategy game Warhammer: Age of Sigmar – Realms of Ruin is up for pre-order.

For Sigmar

You don’t see RTS’ set in any form of Games Workshop’s fantasy realm all that often, so Realms of Ruin is one to watch. And while it’s definitely not of the traditional real-time strategy formula, it’s looking like a game that please fans of the overhauled Age of Sigmar.

The game sets players up to field one of a quartet of armies. So far we’ve seen the Stormcast Eternals and the Orruk Kruleboyz, with today’s trailer debuting the “spectral horde” that is the Nighthaunt. We’ve yet to meet that fourth race, so feel free to speculate while you watch the below.

Early in the story, the Stormcast Eternals venture out into Ghur and after a perilous journey, reach the location of this artefact – yet they find it bound in the ethereal chains of the Nighthaunt, the servants of Nagash, who unleash a storm of wraiths to defend it. The Nighthaunt bring swarms of ghostly apparitions and diabolical horrors to the battlefield in Realms of Ruin, taking advantage through sheer strength in numbers. As well as appearing as antagonists in the campaign, the Nighthaunt are fully playable in Conquest Mode and multiplayer, with a wide range of units inspired by their tabletop counterparts.

Frontier Developments press release

Aside from the new army and trailer, developer Frontier Developments also broke some pre-order and release date info. As to the latter, Warhammer: Age of Sigmar – Realms of Ruin is officially dated for November 17th, 2023. The game was developed for consoles right along with the PC version, so you can expect to see it drop on that date for the PC (Steam and Epic), as well as the Xbox Series X|S and PS5.

And as to those pre-orders, the game should be available now to lock up, for your platform of choice.
