Street Fighter 6’s first post-launch character will be Rashid, arrives this month

Just released last month, Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 is already set to expand. The first post-launch DLC will include Rashid, and hits later this month.

There’s a turbulent wind coming

Capcom is wasting no time with this one, and bringing a fresh character to Street Fighter 6, just a little over a month past the game’s launch. The one-on-one brawler will welcome in Rashid, who debuted in Street Fighter 5.

Rashid brings the possible roster of SF6 to 19 playable characters, and will include “Rashid-related gear, emotes, and more through this month’s “Rashid Arrives!” Fighting Pass”, as a part of the Battle Hub. That’s plus an appearance in the World Tour mode, where players’ avatars will be able to learn his moves, and generally get to know the new Master.

If you need a refresher, Rashid is influenced by a parkour-based style, and features a set of moves that all play off of speed. His moves include:

  • Arabian Cyclone: A new special move that performs a spinning kick and conjures up a whirlwind; can be used as a standalone blow, or transitioned into Rolling Assault or Wing Stroke
  • Arabian Skyhigh: A new double jump move that keeps opponents guessing on where Rashid will land from the air
  • Super Rashid Kick: Level 1 Super Art that unloads a devastating kick while soaring forward and up through the air
  • Ysaar: Previously Rashid’s V-Trigger move in Street Fighter™ V, this Level 2 Super Art summons a slow-moving whirlwind projectile that can be used to pressure opponents
  • Altair: Rashid’s Level 3 Super Art calls forth a tempest that lifts opponents before he rains down on them with a monsoon of powerful blows

Capcom press release

Rashid unlocks for Street Fighter 6 this month, on July 24th, and is included with the Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition of the game, as well as the Year 1 Character Pass. If you don’t have any of that, and would just like to give him a try before you buy, you can also rent him for an hour.

No, seriously, you can rent any DLC fighter that’ll be coming to the game once they release, with a Rental Fighter ticket. And you can nab one of those via the in-game Fighting Pass. Speaking of, Rashid is just the start of the DLC train.

Capcom will add in A.K.I., Ed, and the mighty Akuma as well, as the year rolls on.
