A certain green rabbit returns in Dark Horse’s Star Wars Annual

Yep, he’s back. The oft-maligned yet still fondly remembered Jaxxon is back, and ready for some Hyperspace Annual action thanks to Dark Horse.

Is that a green bunny?

Oh you better believe it’s a green bunny. What Star Wars fan (who’s old enough) could forget Jaxxon, the green rabbit-like Lepi smuggler. An original character, Jaxxon made a name for himself (for good or ill) in the classic Star Wars comics from Marvel.

And while he was kind of just a footnote that never appeared anywhere else, he’s never been what I’d say was forgotten either. Though some of that fame might have been infamy, the fact remains.

That kinda/sorta fond remembering might be what’s fueling his latest appearance too, in an upcoming Dark Horse comic. It’s a guest-starring role that’ll find the bunny-man embroiled in an Ewok civil war, and also bring him into the sequel-era.

Taking a break from his stellar career as a New Republic fighter ace, the galaxy’s greatest green rabbit is sent on a top-secret diplomatic mission to Endor, only to end up in the middle of a full-blown Ewok Civil War! Things get dicey, and our long eared Lepi might have to choose between saving the day, and saving his own skin!

Dark Horse Comics press release

Ready to welcome Jaxxon back into the Star Wars fold? Well, you’re going to have to hit some cons. That’s because, written by Cavan Scott and with interiors from Nick Brokenshire, Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories Annual – Jaxxon 2023 is a convention exclusive book.

It’ll only be available at “select” cons in 2023, with Star Wars Celebration confirmed. And as you can see, that specific one will be sporting a cover by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.
