Nintendo Download: A First-Class Reunion

Two legendary RPG franchises return this week to Nintendo consoles, with Dragon Quest Treasures and Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII – Reunion.

Role for charisma

Okay it’s not exactly that kind of role-playing that we’re talking about here. Actually, in the case of both games, it’s action role-playing we’re talking about. But nevertheless, both Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy are icons of the genre, and both have new games this week on Switch.

In the case of Final Fantasy, the PSP aRPG Crisis Core returns. But even though this one has actual hands on battlin’ it’s still the FF7 universe that fans know and love. And hey, if you’ve played the recent remake of the game that spawned this spinoff, you already have a good idea of what you’re in for.

As for Dragon Quest, that follows suit, and looks a fair shake different that it did when it debuted way back in the NES era. This DQ has players searching for buried treasures, and harnessing the power of monsters on their quest. And if you like cutesy-anime looks, you’re gonna love the visuals.

Other than those games though, this is a very light week for Nintendo. There’s Front Mission 1st: Remake, as well as the arcade version of Tetris, but not a whole lot else.

The tale of Zack’s dreams and honor – the legacy that connects him to Cloud – is revealed in full in this grand saga that has broken the limits of an HD remaster. CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION will be available to play on Dec. 13.
