Fans getting set to hit the sands of Dakar Desert Rally will definitely want to check out the latest look at the game, which heads all the way back the 80s.
Gotta get back in time
If you’re a race fan who’s into off-roading rally action, then you’re gonna want to check out Dakar Desert Rally. The latest racing title from Saber Interactive is a stacked game, offering up “the biggest open-world, off-road racing game on the planet”, according to the company.
Saber has offered a few looks at Dakar to date, but this is the first glimpse of some classic vehicles that’ll be exclusive to the Deluxe Edition. Those would be the DAF Truck Turbo-Twin and Ari Vatanen’s Peugeot 405 Turbo 16.
Dakar Desert Rally delivers an authentic experience with more than 30 stages of full rally racing from the classic Dakar Rally, including officially licensed vehicles, teams, pilots, and a wide variety of hardcore and arcade game modes. Drive across thousands of square kilometers of diverse terrain featuring dynamic weather in both single-player and online multiplayer modes offering tough competition for up to four players. You can also create and share your very own rally events using the custom roadbook editor.
Saber Interactive press release
In addition to the two vehicles shown above and the base game, the Deluxe Edition also includes the full Season Pass. That means you’d also get an additional course of 5 more DLC packs, with “a new map, new vehicles, and two new rally events”. Of course, all of that comes at a discount too, since it’s bundled.
The standard edition is priced in at $39.99 USD, while the Deluxe is $59.99, and if you’re thinking about getting either one, you might want to pre-order. If you do, you’ll get “the exclusive Audi RS Q e-tron”. Yes, that’s a representation of an electric vehicle, but one that actually won a desert rally at the 2022 Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge.
Dakar Desert Rally pulls onto Xbox and PlayStation platforms, as well as the PC (via Steam and Epic) on October 4th.
