Capcom’s more recent Resident Evil titles are on the way to Switch

While there are Resident Evil games on the Switch already, Capcom has the Resident Evil 2 remake and all the more recent releases on the way as well.

Evil grows

Nintendo Switch gamers have a lot of Evil on the horizon. And of course, I’m talking about Capcom’s legendary Resident Evil series, which is about to expand on the console in a big way.

The more recent games in the series, including the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes, BioHazard, and Village are all coming soon. But if you guessed that they’d all be Cloud streaming games, you’d be right.

Yeah, it’s a little disappointing, but in the case of the more graphically intensive titles in the line, it’s also understandable. The Switch does a fair job with the format too, and as long as you have a stable internet connection with some good speeds, you should be alright. The one real bummer of course is that they won’t be truly ‘portable’. So if you wanted to take some RE action on public transport or on a road trip, that’s not really gonna happen.

The latest launch in the long-running series, Resident Evil Village will be the first title to hit. Look for that on October 28th, followed by Village’s Winters Expansion DLC on December 2nd. Those are the only confirmed dates so far, but Capcom says all of the rest will be along sooner than later. And by that, I mean before the end of the year.

If you’re unsure of how all of this works too, Capcom has you covered. A demo of Village is up right now on the eShop, ready for streaming. And if you like what you play, you can actually buy into the Cloud version of the game right from the demo app. There’s no word on whether or not your progress will carry over though.
