Expansion Pack subscribers will get another Nintendo 64 treat this month, with the arrival of one of the classic console’s launch titles, Wave Race 64.
Hitting the beach
The Sommer is coming to a close, but you can still hit the beach and ride some waves on your Nintendo Switch. Well, you can if you are an Expansion Pack subscriber, that is.
The beefed up version of Nintendo’s online subscription service, the Expansion Pack is home to Sega Genesis and N64 titles. And it’s the latter that’s getting something of a surprise addition this month, with the arrival of Wave Race 64.
Wave Race 64 features nine challenging courses set across scenic locales. Go airborne with dolphins on the golden shores of Sunset Bay, cruise under the bright lights and tall buildings of Twilight City, feel the crashing waves on Sunny Beach or chill out on the frigid waters of Glacier Coast, just to name a few. Plus, racing conditions will change with the weather, making the water choppy or covering the course with fog. The waves will even respond to the way that you and your rivals move!
Nintendo press release
The water-logged title offers up a Championship mode, as well as Time Trials, a Stunt Mode, and a 2 player mode. There’s no word on whether the latter will allow for online play or not though.
But either way, Wave Race 64 will be heading to the Switch for Expansion Pack subscribers on August 19th.
