Marvel’s Midnight Suns delayed to “later this fiscal year”

If you’ve been looking forward to a little mystical-style, comic book action, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. 2K has delayed Firaxis’ Midnight Suns.

The sun will rise… eventually

All told, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is looking like a pretty unique comic book title. Developed by XCOM developer Firaxis, the game eschews fast-action for a turn-based, strategic style of gameplay.

And along with that, it also gives everything a mystical coat of paint. While we’ve seen Marvel’s mystic side represented in video games before, it certainly hasn’t been to this extent. As mentioned above though, if you’ve been eagerly awaiting its launch, you’ll have to hang on for a while longer.

Originally thought to be launching last spring, then later this year, Marvel’s Midnight Suns will instead be released “later this fiscal year”. From a quick Google search, that looks like it could be some time in quarter 1, 2023.

Looks like a Halloween or Holiday ’22 launch is not exactly gonna happen then. Kind of bummer as, again, this looked to be one of the more unique Marvel titles in development. And I say that as someone who wasn’t into it originally.

Stay tuned, lots more to come on Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
