DST adds TMNT Minimate 4pack for double the anniversaries

Did you know it’s Diamond Comics’ 40th? Did you also know it’s the Turtles’ 35th? DST knew both of those little nuggets and slapped ’em together.

Haaaaaappy anniversary

So what we’ve got here is a double-barreled blast of birthday treats. This year (2022), Diamond Comics Distributors is celebrating its big 4-0, and so all year long Diamond Select Toys has been announcing special items to tie-into that 1980’s goodness.

This time, it so happens that the subject of the celebratory item is also observing a pretty beefy B-day. And that of course, would be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The TMNT are rocking their 35th, and will be doing so in style with this new Minimates 4pack.

The set of 4 Turtles includes the complete team of brothers, along with some pretty rad box art, all designed by Barry Bradfield. As you can see, the packaging is made up to look like a VHS box, complete with mock-tape underneath.

I think I actually remember this volume.

In the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Minimates Retro VHS Box Set, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael each come with their trademark weapons, and sport looks inspired by the classic TMNT toys of yesteryear. Also included are four baby turtles, throwing stars, a mutagen canister and a mouser! Each 2-inch Minimate features multiple points of articulation, and all six come packaged in replica VHS packaging with a slide-out “cassette” tray and original cover art.

Diamond Select press release

As for when this sweet little set is scheduled to hit retail, there’s no date just yet. We do know it should be out and ready to be added to your collection this fall though.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
