Sniper Elite is almost back on consoles and the PC, and it will be the most feature-rich installment in the game yet. And that includes co-op play.
Taking aim
The game’s expansive campaign is set in France in 1944 and centers around the events of D-Day. Elite marksman Karl Fairburne uncovers a Nazi plot called Operation Kraken that could turn the tide of the war back in their favor. Working in the shadows behind enemy lines, Karl has to use all the skills at his disposal to destroy Operation Kraken and the mastermind behind it Abelard Möller. The full Campaign is playable in two-player online co-op, allowing players to team up as they fight the Axis force and track down Möller.
Rebellion press release
In addition to the above, there are a few more surprises up Sniper Elite 5’s sleeve. For one thing, there’s the Invasion mode. That’s exactly what it sounds like, and will allow players to invade other players solo games. The home player will then have to make use of phones placed around the map to learn more about their new human enemy, and where they are.
That’s plus a full multiplayer mode, enhanced Kill Cam and weapon customization, and more options as to how you tackle each mission. If you’re a Sniper Elite fan, this is one to check out.
Sniper Elite 5 is out for both consoles and the PC on May 26th. It’ll also be a part of Game Pass.
