The Sinister Six return for Amazing Spider-Man #6

Some of Spider-Man’s most historic and vile foes are set to return once again under the Sinister Six banner, in the pages of the new Amazing series.

That’s, uh, a lotta sixes

So in this 60th anniversary year for Spidey, and in issue #6 of the new Amazing Spider-Man series, the Sinister Six return. That’s, by my count and with admittedly one ‘0’ mixed in, 3 sixes. But moving on…

As you saw in the headline, the Sinister Six are indeed back to plague the web-head. This is no shadow of the bad-guy team either, this is the real deal with… oh wait, no. It’s actually the exact opposite of that. Still, it actually does sound kind of neat.

The new story picks up right form the end of writer Zeb Wells and artist Ed McGuinness’ opening arc of Amazing. That means Pete is already reeling from his battle with Tombstone, and now must contend with the Sinister Adaptoid.

Someone from Spider-Man’s past has captured the Sinister Six and used them to create the truly terrifying SINISTER ADAPTOID, a being equipped with the abilities of Spidey’s greatest foes: Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter, Electro, Mysterio, and Sandman. It’ll be one of the biggest adventures in Spider-History and you will not believe the ending!

Marvel Comics press release

What could that ending be? Could it be Spidey teaming up with the original Six to take down the Adaptoid? Whatever might be in sore, you won’t have to wait long to find out as this tremendous tale will be encapsulated in June’s 900th issue of Amazing.

If you’re wondering, that’s the Legacy numbering for #6 of the current run. The issue will be jumbo-sized, and will be loaded up with “some shocks that are going to make you say WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!?!”, according to editor Nick Lowe.

It hits the stands on June 22nd.
