SDCC 2021: Mattel deals trio of Masters of the Universe exclusives

Masters of the Universe is the subject of today’s Mattel Comic-Con@Home reveals. Check out 3 big reveals, including Revelations Scare Glow.

Fear my glow!

If there’s a king of today’s Mattel reveals, and there are three of them, then it’s obviously Scare Glow. Firstly, it’s Scare Glow, a character who’s never figured all that much into MOTU story-wise, but is a massive fan-favorite.

Then there’s the fact that this is a never before seen sculpt. And it’s one that fits in with the new, and red-hot, Masters of the Universe Revelations figure line. So there’s a good deal going for this guy.

Also, and kind of interesting, is that he comes with the split Power Sword. Is that a nod to something that happens in the new series? We already know that the Sword gets split, robbing Adam of his power to transform, but is Scare Glow part of why that happens? Could be, especially since horror-legend Tony Todd is voicing the vengeful spirit.

Masters of the Universe® Masterverse Revelation Scare Glow® Action Figure (SRP: $35)

  • Masters of the Universe™ Masterverse™ is an exciting new line of MOTU® action figures, and its first wave celebrates the release of a thrilling Netflix animated series Masters of the Universe™: Revelation™!
  • This collector’s edition of Scare Glow®, the skeletal ghost warrior whose loyalties are to the evil Skeletor®, is highly detailed and features glow-in-dark skeleton and head. Highly articulated, this action figure has 30 working joints for battle scenes and power posing.
  • Figure comes with posable cape and scythe of doom, plus extra hands. Special LED packaging includes purple and white lights that brilliantly display the glow-in-the-dark effect! A must have for collectors and fans who treasure the MOTU® legacy and also appreciate the expertly crafted updates of the Masterverse line. By the power of Grayskull™! Each sold separately, subject to availability. Colors and decorations may vary.
  • Product will be for sale on Mattel Creations, Mattel’s collaboration and direct-to-consumer platform, on Thursday, July 22 at 9am PST / 12pm EST.

That lascally Labbit

Past Scare Glow, there’s also a brand new Labbit reveal. The little collector figure line is getting a Battle Cat (Battle-Labbit?) of its own, complete with Power Sword.

As you’re perusing the pics below, make sure to take note of the assembly lines. No, this is no mere Labbit vinyl figure, this one’s a Mega Construx set too. And yes, that means this is one piece of art that you’ll actually build. It’s essentially the convergence of tree brands, with Mattel, Mega, and artist Frank Kozik’s Labbit. Slick stuff, not to mention unique.

Not too likely that you’ll see something like this again.

MEGA Collabs.™ Masters of the Universe™ Battle Labbit™ (SRP: $50)

  • The Labbit has seen countless iterations over the years – that’s what happens when an iconic vinyl figure takes the pop art scene by storm – but this might just be the most powerful Labbit in the universe. But this time, we’ve really caught lightning in a bottle (think about it!). Collaborating with both Masters of the Universe and Frank Kozik himself, MEGA is mighty proud to unleash this buildable Battle Labbit.
  • Complete with all of the Labbit’s signature features, this iteration provides a fresh dose of MOTU, paying tribute to Battle Cat as it will appear in the upcoming Masters of the Universe: Revelation animated reboot. Build it, bask in its beauty, just don’t actually battle with it. Why? Because this is more than a toy. This is art.
  • Product will be for sale on Mattel Creations, Mattel’s collaboration and direct-to-consumer platform, on Thursday, July 22 at 9am PST / 12pm EST.

Roll out, Eternia style

Rounding things off for today is a double pack of Eternian vehicles. The new set includes both the villainous Land Shark and the heroic Wind Raider, for a ground/air combo that’s tough to beat in terms of nostalgia.

Now, you might be saying ‘but these are available already!’ And with that, you’d sort of be right. Where you’re wrong though, is that these new Con-exclusives include both a tiny, vintage-styled He-Man and a lil’ Skeletor in the drivers seats. Can’t do better than that.

Hot Wheels Comic Con Masters Of The Universe Wind Raider® vs Land Shark (SRP: $35)

  • Beginning back in the 1980s, fans couldn’t get enough of He-Man® and his ability to defend Eternia® from Skeletor™ and the forces of evil. Now, in the spirit of that epic rivalry, Hot Wheels® has created a highly-detailed Wind Raider, the powerful Eternian jet, and Land Shark, a shark-like tank that terrorizes Eternia®.
  • The Wind Raider sports the original signature olive-green hull, dark yellow wings, and skull deco and comes with He-Man® mini figure to ride the Wind Raider to victory. A fuchsia shark grazes the front of the Land Shark and features a Skeletor™ action figure at the helm with the mounted weapons on the back.
  • MOTU® fans will want to collect this replica of the powerful jet-propelled military craft that transports He-Man® across the skies and just above the water of the Harmony Sea. Comes in artistic vintage-inspired window box packaging with insert that Masters of the Universe® aficionados will display with pride. Colors and decorations may vary.
  • Product will be for sale on Mattel Creations, Mattel’s collaboration and direct-to-consumer platform, on Thursday, July 22 at 9am PST / 12pm EST.
