Showcasing some of Marvel’s biggest heroes who never were, the latest slate of variant covers from the publisher is all about Heroes Reborn.
Rebirth
In many ways, Heroes Reborn could represent a brand new universe of action and superheroics from Marvel Comics. I mean, it actually does do that, but I say “could” because we don’t know quite where any of it is leading yet. Is Heroes Reborn a new Ultimate U, or just an Age of Apocalypse? We’ll find out, but as we move into 2021, some things are becoming clearer.
If you’re not sure what any of this means, then you haven’t been paying attention to what Marvel’s been talking up lately. Heroes Reborn might have a name from the 90s, but it’s an all-new creation from the mind of writer Jason Aaron and artist Ed McGuiness.
Basically it’s a world where the Avengers (and some other Marvel heroes) never appeared. So who are the superheroes? Well, they’re none other than Marvel’s Justice League stand-ins, the Squadron Supreme.
Though again, we’re starting to see some more of what Heroes Reborn is going to offer. And from that, it certainly looks like there will be some Avengers showing up. Just take a look at this new selection of variant covers to see more on that.
