Super7’s third wave of TMNT figures are ready for pre-order

If you missed it, the third wave of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from Super7 have hit the pre-order phase. Rocksteady? April? Metalhead? Yep.

If you’re anything like I am, then the TMNT figures from Playmates Toys hold a very big spot in your heart. From the line’s beginnings in 1988 until it ended almost a decade later, that original collection will always be a special one.

One reason for that was its scope. The line offered tons of characters, from included original designs to those as featured on the TV show and in the comics. Another reason was that the series had an aesthetic all to itself. Many of the sculpts were riffs on the ‘official’ character designs, instead of being direct replications. That little fact makes it still stand out today as a unique (and very fun) line.

That’s probably why the anticipation for what current toy-maker Super7 is cooking up so strong. Based not on the TV show or the movies, Super7’s still upcoming line of TMNT Ultimates is based on the original Playmates toy line. And the company looks like it plans on making the most out of that license.

Already announced are two waves of figures, each one including two heroes and two villains, with a Turtle thrown in as one of the former (obviously).

Waves 1 and 2 include:

Wave 3 meanwhile, which is ready for pre-order now, will include:

You can grab said pre-order of most of series 2 and 3 via online retailers like our friends at Entertainment Earth. Just hit the links above to secure yours. If you order from EE, BG will receive a small commission from your purchase.

It should also be noted that none of these figures are actually out yet. Wave 1 is set to arrive this fall, with wave 2 following in early ’21. The just announced wave 3? That’s not due till next spring.
