Marvel unveils lineup of 2020 variant covers

With the actual year 2020 almost here, Marvel is prepping a beast of a variant lineup to celebrate Iron Man 2020, the new limited series.

In the year 2020…

Iron Man 2020 is no one new. He’s been around for quite some time, as Arno Stark was always the sorta-evil future Iron Man character. Of course, that was decades in the past and now we’re actually almost in the year 2020. So there was a question as to what, if anything, Marvel would be doing with Arno, who was introduced as a regular character in the flagship Iron Man comics few years back.

Now we have our answer, as he’ll be starring in a limited series, as Iron Man. Tony Stark is missing (again), and presumed dead, so Arno will take up the role. Whether or not he’s a hero or a villain remains to be seen.

What doesn’t remain to be seen though, is the slate of variant covers that Marvel Comics has planned to coincide with the event series. A monster slate of them will debut ‘2020-ified’ versions of classic Marvel heroes and villains.
