Star Wars Celebration is coming up, and there’ll be plenty of goodies there for fans to take home. Diamond Select has a pair of fan favorites planned.
Celebrate
Just a few weeks away is Star Wars Celebration, the yearly convention centered on the property. Celebration has always been pretty big, but seems to have exploded in the last few years, with the Disney takeover.
It’s now a yearly party for all things Star Wars, complete with all the trimmings that you’d expect from a bigger con. There are special guests, there are fans in costume, and there it most definitely stuff to buy.
This year’s convention will be held in Chicago, and future two awesome exclusives from Diamond Select Toys. A pair of fan favorite characters, Hera from Star Wars Rebels, and the spider-legged version of Darth Maul will both get statues.
Hera Syndulla
- The captain and heart of the Ghost crew, Hera Syndulla was a gifted pilot and leader. While Hera was a strong commander – and especially adept at dogfighting with TIE fighters – she was also warm and nurturing. The Twi’lek could bring out the best in her team, which consisted of very different personalities, making them believe in themselves, each other, and their struggle against the Empire. Hera will be made available as a 1:6 scale resin bust, for a price of $120.00.
Darth Maul
- A deadly, agile Sith Lord trained by the evil Darth Sidious, Darth Maul was a formidable warrior and scheming mastermind. He wielded an intimidating double-bladed lightsaber and fought with a menacing ferocity. Though he fell in battle against Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Zabrak from Dathomir would prove to be much harder to destroy than originally believed. Darth Maul will be depicted with his Force-constructed spider legs in a 1:8 scale Collector’s Gallery statue, available for $200.00.
If you’re a Star Wars Premier Guild member, you’ll actually be able to order these ahead of time too. I imagine that’s a good thing too, since exclusives tend to be in short supply at conventions.
If not, you’ll have to hit the booth on the show floor. You’ll be able to find the above at the Gentle Giant booth. Star Wars Celebration is set to run April 11th through the 15th.
