Nintendo Download: Travis Touchdown is Back!

The latest No More Heroes title arrives for the Switch, in a week that also offers a fighting game that allows you to play as Jesus. No, seriously.

Touchdown

Before we get to the silly news in the Nintendo Download this week, let’s talk Travis. Never really a mainstream hit, No More Heroes has been a cult classic right from day 1.

Now the latest game in the set has arrived for the Nintendo Switch, and it’s just as nutso as the series has ever been. How nutso?

The setting is a small town in the middle of nowhere in the American South. Badman shows up at the trailer Travis Touchdown has been living in to exact revenge for the murder of his daughter, Bad Girl. But things go horribly wrong. As they battle it out, the two are sucked into the game world of the Death Drive Mk Ⅱ. Beam Katana in hand, Travis strikes again!

Nintendo press release

So, yeah. That’s crazy alright. But it’s honestly no where near as strange as Fight of Gods.

A 2D fighting game that looks okay-ish at best, Fight of Gods allows gamers to battle it out via a stable of gods from around different mythologies and religions. You’ve got Zeus, Amaterasu (not a wolf), Anubis, Buddha (yes, that Buddha), and Jesus.

Wearing a crown of thrones and brandishing shattered pieces of the cross, Christ is certainly a… unique addition to a fighting game roster. You know, what with the whole non-violence thing and all. Anyway, get it before it’s removed. I guess.
