Watch Rick Baker sculpt his creepy take on the Joker

DC Collectibles’ fantastically unnerving Joker bust is almost here. You can check out creator Rick Baker sculpting it in a new time-lapse video.

Joke’s on you

Cool little peek into what goes towards designing one of these things, huh? The Joker bust is one impressive piece too, as it’s both massively detailed and presented on a large scale. It’s life-sized, in case you didn’t know. So what you see being sculpted there is more or less the same thing that you’ll be able to take home with you.

At about 22″ tall, the Joker comes in two different variations, neither one of which is cheap:

  • Ultimate Edition: Limited to only 50 pieces (numbered 1-50). Produced from Baker’s original molds, offering fans a version that is just one step removed from the Academy Award winner’s original creation. The bust showcases Baker’s original paint colors for The Joker’s shirt and vest. Each bust will contain a certificate of authenticity hand-signed by Baker. MSRP: $1500.00

  • Standard Edition: Limited to only 150 pieces (numbered 1-150). Features The Joker sporting an orange shirt and purple vest. MSRP: $1000.00

If you are taking the plunge and picking up a Rick Baker Joker, then you’re in luck too. The release date isn’t far off at this point. With a tag of simply “October” still stuck to the official page for the bust, there nonetheless seems to be a little more concrete of a date that DC pr is talking up.

That would be Halloween. Yep, looks like Mr. J is hitting stores just in time for the scariest day on the calendar. Fitting.
