Do you feel the madness? Well that’s probably just the insanity of E3 honestly. But we’ve got a new look at Call of Cthulhu too!
Hearing the Call
No fictional realm does ‘insanity’ like Cthulhu does, and that’s been reflected in a few video games to this point. Have to say though, Call of Cthulhu from Focus Home and Cyanide looks like it might be the best yet. That’s in no short part because the Unreal Engine 4 is powering this one, and it’s turning the creep-factor up to 11.
As for the game’s adventure itself, Darkwater Island is the place; that’s where you’ll be digging into the death of an entire family. You play as a PI of course, name of Pierce, and the era is 1920s Boston. As you might imagine, Darkwater has been experiencing all manner of unexplainable occurrences.
You’ll have way more than just “suspicious locals, mutilated whales, and disappearing bodies” to deal with though. Pierce’s sanity will also be a factor, as it slowly disintegrates. Hey, it wouldn’t be Cthulhu without a little insanity, now would it?
No release date yet for this one, but it’s looking pretty sharp. Expect it on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC some time this year.
