Get a peek at the gorgeous-looking, revamped Green Hill Zone in Sonic Forces

For something of a surprise game, Sonic Forces is looking pretty freaking great. Sega has released a new trailer for it, showing off gameplay from the Green Hill Zone, and man is it pretty

A true update for Sonic

Now that’s pretty. Especially if you’re a long time fan of the gaming icon that is Sonic. Sonic Forces is looking like it’s set to be a flat-out beautiful return to the Sonic the Hedgehog classics of old. The game was first teased during a Nintendo Direct of course, so we knew it was coming. But it’s great to see it in extended action nonetheless.

Half of the fun there, is that Sonic Forces looks like a Sonic game. Through all the nice graphics, it’s roughly the same fast and action-packed gameplay at heart as it offered on the Genesis. Flatly, this is exactly what you’d want from a Sonic title, and good on Sega for delivering on that. Well, it looks like they’re delivering anyway. We won’t really know till the game actually hits shelves.

Fortunately, it’s not too long till that happens, since the game is set to hit this year. And I assume that means we’ll be seeing lots more on it in the near future. As to the actual release date, Sonic Forces is set to arrive this coming Holiday season on consoles and the PC. And yes, that includes the Nintendo Switch.
