Just what the narrative behind DC Comics brawler Injustice 2 will be is still a mystery. One thing’s for sure though, Superman will still be a threat.
Return of the Regime
Shattered alliances indeed. And shattered bones too, from the look of it. When we last left Superman and the rest of Injustice alternate universe, he was safely behind bars. He was kept docile with a constant barrage of red sun radiation.
From this new trailer though, it certainly looks as though he doesn’t stay that way. I say “looks”, because we really don’t have much of an idea what the story will be in Injustice 2. An afterthought in most fighting games, the first installment of NetherRealm’s DC Comics series went heavy on plot, and succeeded with it.
So far, we know that Superman will be a threat once again. But who the main villain of the game will be is still shrouded in mystery. Sure, it could be the Man of Steel, but I doubt it. And despite the constant looks at the Darkseid DLC, I doubt it’s him too. So I’m personally going with Brainiac, as the Superman heavy had been hinted at before.
With not all that long before the game hits though, I assume we’ll see some more detailed looks at both that and the rest of the roster soon. Injustice 2 arrives on consoles on May 16th.
