Plus – just how did Jessica Jones wind up incarcerated in The Cellar – a prison designed to hold only the deadliest super villains? Find out in this blistering first issue when the eponymous heroine makes her triumphant return to comics in JESSICA JONES #1 – on-sale this October!

Yep, Marvel is creating more and more synergy all the time between its various entertainment wings. With the in mind, a new Jessica Jones book was only a matter of time. Of course, that’s especially true since the Netflix show of the same name is a hit. That’s not going to hurt anything.

A history in print

Though she wasn’t the best known of characters, Jess Jones did start out as a comic book back in 2001. Retconned into the Marvel U, she was a fan favorite too, with plenty of readers. That’s probably why she was selected for TV in the first place. So with that in mind, it’s only fair that she return to the printed page.

From the looks of things here in this preview, it’s set to be every bit as gritty as the show. Scroll down for a preview of what’ll be hitting. Issue #1 arrives from the team of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, on shelves and in digital format, on October 12th.
