Battlefleet Gothic: Armada intro’s the Space Marines

Behold, for the Angels of Death have arrived in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada.

From Tindalos Interactive, Battlefleet Gothic has been out for a little while now. The game introduces one of the lesser known Warhammer 40k tabletop games to the world of video games. In it, gamers field fleets from 40k’s lore, including the Orks, Eldar, Chaos, and now the Space Marines.

The Space Marines are the greatest of humanity’s warriors, fierce soldiers that have been subjected to intense training, genetic modification, and psycho-conditioning. Their fleets are experts at close-ranged battles, sporting well-armoured ships and specialize in aggressive boarding techniques. In addition, they have access to two unique faction traits which makes them immune to insubordination mechanics and gives them the ability to prioritize their attacks on different subsystems when boarding.

So they’re pretty damn tough, is what that means I think. And you don’t get access to just one Space Marine faction in this DLC. Nope, a total of 5 chapters are in here. You’ll get to play the Space Wolves, Blood Angels, Ultramarines, Dark Angels, and the Imperial Fist.

The DLC pack is available right now to add to your copy of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada for the PC. It’s free of charge for early adopters, as the upcoming Tau pack will be.
