More Bebop, Rocksteady, Shredder, and one giant pair of nunchucks highlight this new trailer for this Summer’s TMNT2.
Yeah, yeah, it’s cool to hate on this movie, I get it. Here’s the thing though, if you’re a huge Turtles fan then there’s little reason (other than maybe the first flick) for you not to be at least a little bit excited about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
Like I’ve said a million times before, this movie not only has characters that most Turtles fans have been waiting (literally) decades to see on the big screen, but with a new director in tow (Dave Green), it looks like it’s got the tone right for the fab four. And that’s not even mentioning a Shredder that seems to be a heck of a lot better than the one from the first installment.
Sure there’s stuff from that movie that I wish had been done differently, but it is what it is. And will this sequel be the movie of the year? No, probably not, but it’s a genuinely fun-looking action/comedy and will hopefully be the film that finally hits all the checkmarks for a TMNT movie.
As much as I enjoyed the originals when I was a kid, they didn’t have any of the characters that I mentioned above except Shredder, and there was definitely no Krang or Technodrome, both of which will be featured here. For that alone, I’ve kind of got to see this.
Cross your fingers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows releases on June 3rd.
