Valkyria Chronicles Remastered is coming to the PS4

Sega’s niche classic returns for the PS4 with Valkyria Chronicles Remastered.

One of those games that I’ve always meant to play, but never have for whatever reason, Valkyria Chronicles first launched on the PS3 a few years back and made an instant fanbase. The game had an interesting mix of history and fantasy, as it created a world that was very much fictional, but with some elements of World War II that infused it with an instant base in reality.

And while this release that we’re talking about here isn’t a sequel, it just might mean that interest is being gauged. Valkyria Chronicles Remastered for the PS4 will run in 1080p with 60fps, so it’s got a nice visual bump over that PS3 original.

The new game will also have both Japanese and English audio options, all the original DLC and Trophy support, which was shockingly absent from the original. though now that I think about it, I think VC actually launched before Trophies were a thing.

As you might imagine, there’s a pre-order incentive as well, with a “metal Squad 7 Armored Case” (steelbook) coming along with pre-orders and the first run of retail copies. It’s a goodie that’s exclusive to the US, and I have a feeling that it’s going to be in short supply, so if you do want it (and a copy of the game) you might want to go ahead and pre-order.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered hits the PS4 this Spring.
