Boss Key announces free-to-play shooter LawBreakers

Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski has made his first game under his own studio official, and it’ LawBreakers.

You might already have heard of LawBreakers under its former name- Project BlueStreak. The PC game was mentioned a few times months back on Bleszinski’s Twitter feed, though no details were given. We got a fair bit more on the game in that trailer though, including what we can expect from the storyline, as well as the setting.

It’s good to see that, although LawBreakers is set to be a free-to-play multiplayer shooter, there will be a history to it’s recovered Earth and there’ll be an overall storyline. So the point it that this won’t be generic, so don’t worry.

What it will be is team-based though, so you’ll find yourself tagging with one of two factions for control of the altered world that is left int he wake of The Shattering. The name is actually a play on the faction-centric play too; Law(vs)Breakers.

A full trailer will hit tomorrow (August 28th), as a part of the PAX Prime convention, so stay tuned for that. And the game will actually be playable at the show too, so if you’re in the Seattle area this weekend, you might want to pay attention to the game’s Twitter feed, as well as Boss Key Productions’ feed.

There hints will be given away as to the location. If you pick up on the clues and find Boss Key’s secret base of operations (which is promised to be within a short distance of the Washington State Convention Center), you can head over and get to play with four of the characters across one new map for the game. It’s first come, first served though, so keep that in mind.
