Pixels, Adam Sandler’s latest flick, is all about classic arcade game characters coming to life and attacking humanity (sort of).
I honestly don’t know what to think about this movie. On the one hand, there’s a lot that looks like it could be fun. You’ve got Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and a bunch of other characters (QBert is a good guy I guess) in there from the golden age of the arcades, all tromping around the real world. They all look pretty neat too, with that cool, 80s neon ‘pixelated’ glow to them.
On the other hand, it’s an Adam Sandler film. There’s Peter Dinklage… but Kevin James is in it too. Ehh… I guess I’ll reserve judgement till I see it, which I probably can’t avoid doing when it hits theaters on July 24th, 2015.
