Sony discounts PSN offerings this weekend as an apology for outages

Ticked that the PSN has so many issues as of late? Maybe a 10% discount (almost) across the boards will make you feel better.

As an apology, this isn’t too bad of one. Of course, 10% isn’t exactly a windfall for anyone, but at least it’s something, and that’s certainly better than nothing. The discount comes as an apology to gamers for being stranded without an online service this past Christmas and being in and out ever since with some persisting issues.

Not though, that the 10% off won’t apply to everything though, as some games will be excluded from the special pricing, along with subscriptions (but you probably guessed that), rentals of video content, and pre-order games. The PS Vita (as well as the PSP and PSTV) are also oddly left out of this deal, and purchases for discounted content can only be made through the PS3 or PS4.

Yes, the limitations are frustrating when you take into consideration that this is all a big ‘I’m sorry’, but again – at least it’s something. As for when you can take advantage, the sale pricing will start up this Friday (the 23rd) and run through Monday, January 26th.
