Focus Home posts trailer with 23 minutes of Sherlock gameplay

See how the next Sherlock Holmes title from Focus Home and Frogwares plays out in this new massive gameplay trailer.

What a difference a new engine makes. While Frogwares in-house engine was never a clunker, the Unreal Engine is just that much better and makes the game look as triple-A as fans might want. Assembling clues and making Holmes’ famous deductions looks like a really fun addition too and one that’s a much more fitting way to play as the famed consulting detective.

Profiling suspects and assembling clues to catch them in their lies seems really neat too. It almost gives the game a procedural crime drama (like you’d find on TV) flair, and that’s a very good thing when you’re talking about Sherlock.

As a fan of the characters myself, I’m pretty stoked for this one. Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments looks to hit all the high marks and just might be the first game in the series to make gamers actually feel like a consulting deceptive of Holmes caliber.

You’ll be able to get deductive this September, when the game launches on the Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
