Valiant takes the wraps off new previews for Unity #8 and Armor Hunters #1

Two of the most hotly anticipated comics from publisher Valiant Comics get new preview looks and a little more insight into just who the invading Hunters are.

A relentless and surgical strike team from the farthest reaches of space – sworn to exterminate the X-O Manowar armor and all like it – have finally found their last target. They will hunt. They will trap. They will kill. And they will rid the universe of the X-O Manowar’s incalculable destructive power…even if it means taking the Earth with it.

If you’re a Valiant fan, then this is the event you’ve been waiting for. Armor Hunters is fast approaching and pretty much the entire Valiant pantheon will be involved in one way or another in crossover issues, or in the main mini-series book itself. Armor Hunters really represents the first ‘major’ universe-wide event for Valiant and the abolisher is looking to make it count.

Armor Hunters itself will span four issues from the team of Robert Venditti and Doug Braithwaite, with each issue getting the variant Chromium alt-cover treatment from top relent like Jorge Molina (X-Men), Mico Suayan (Ultimate Cataclysm), Clayton Crain(RAI), Philip Tan (Green Lantern), and Lewis LaRosa (Punisher MAX). If that sounds like the company is going all-out, it’s probably because they are. They keep a very tidy universe over at Valiant and pretty much every event they craft seems to be done so with a ton of thought behind it. Armor Hunters is their first really big time crossover event, and they’re more than likely looking to ale it one not to be forgotten.

Taking things even further, Unity then joins in on the action as of issue #8 from Matt Kindt and Stephen Segovia. The new story arc focuses squarely on the events happening in Armor Hunters and X-O Manowar in particular starting in that issue. It’s not lone either as other Valiant books will be feeling the sting of the extraterrestrial Hunters too, all of which you can find in the checklist sent to us by Valiant that you can find in the gallery below.

Mark your calendars, Armor Hunters starts up in June.
