Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare gets even weirder with new trailer

Last time around, we saw the plants defending their turf against the hordes of the silly undead- this time it’s the zombies’ turn to attack and make some stir-fry.

Both sides in this one actually look like they’ll be pretty fun to play as. I’m leaning towards the Plants being my favorite, but it’s hard to deny the sheer WTF-ness of a zombie wielding a gun that’s actually a dolphin. I mean, really? Have the Zombies and dolphins teamed-up to annihilate the Plants? These are the questions that keep us up at night my friends.

Insomnia aside, this is the pre-order trailer for the game and shows off some more gameplay as you can probably tell. The Zombies in the video are tromping out of the Zomboss’ lair in the mountains and assaulting the Plants’ pirate ship… which sounds totally insane. But that’s kind of one of the most fun parts of Popcap’s PvZ series in general isn’t it? The sheer nuttiness of the whole thing just has an appeal that’s lost irresistible; a fact that’s reinforced by the massive amount of downloads the original game and its sequel have on pretty much every platform that they take root on.

The first third-person shooter in the franchise, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare hits the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on February 25th.
