Update- Infinity Ward teases at aliens in Call of Duty: Ghosts

Invaders from beyond in Ghosts? It just might be. Update: Yep, it’s aliens alright and we’ve got the trailer to prove it.

Call of Duty: Ghosts introduces Extinction – an all-new 1-4 player cooperative game mode featuring a unique blend of fast-paced survival action, FPS base defense, scavenging and class leveling. Pre-order now at http://www.callofduty.com/ghosts/wheretobuy.

Gaming site Polygon is reporting that CoD:Ghosts developer Infinity Ward has released a short teaser video for a mode in the forthcoming shooter called Extinction. In the trailer, a puff of smoke transforms the now familiar Ghosts ‘skull’ logo into something resembling a face that’s decidedly not of this world.

Further, a poster on Imgur posted up several screens of the CoD Zombies-like mode in action including loadouts and ‘challenges’ that describe taking down the alien opposition with specific weapon types. You can check out the Polygon story here and the teaser here on IW’s Instagram feed. Whatever it is, it’s definitely not human.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is set to arrive on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC on November 5th with Xbox One and PS4 editions hitting alongside the consoles launches later next month.
